The opportunity to compete at Bathurst doesn't come around all that often so it came as no suprise that the entry list for this round of the Australian Performance Car Championship attracted a very strong field, dominating by V8 Holdens and a smattering of Fords. The all-wheel drive EVOs were outnumbered for sure!

Gary had problems early on with some mechanical issues but still managed a creditable 5th in the first practice session on Thursday. Gary needed some strong results this weekend to stay in the running for the 2007 Championship.

The pace certainly gotter a lot hotter in Qualifying, with the first 10 cars separated by only about 4 seconds, which is not insignificant over the Mt. Panorama circuit. Gary was still sufering from a blow-off valve malfunction on the EVO but kept the Salta Properties EVO in the Top 10 with a time of 2:31.73 which was good for 8th place on the grid for Race 1 on Friday.
